Archbishop Dr. Gerishon K. Njoroge.

Specialist in ministering the life of God through the Gospel.

Archishop Dr. Gerishon K. Njoroge was born and brought up in a rural village in Central Province, at a place called Limuru, 40kms North of Nairobi City in Kenya. He was the 9th born in a family of 11 siblings. His father died when he was only 8 years old. They lived in abject poverty, where their widowed mother brought them up single handedly, toiling hard so as to feed, educate and clothe them all to High school.
Bishop Gerishon K. Njoroge knows what it means to sleep on an empty stomach.

Luxuries like wearing a pant or a pair of shoe was foreign to him in his childhood. He wore his first pants when he was joining school at the age 7 years, and his first pair of shoes while he was joining high school at the age of 14 years. In both cases, his mother was forced to buy them because it was mandatory to wear them in school. How precious was his first pant!

Like Eunice, the mother of Timothy in the Bible who is mentioned by Apostle Paul, in 2Timothy 1:5, his mother had a sincere faith in God, and taught them many valuable lessons on life. Though very poor, she never wavered in her faith and love of Jesus Christ. She taught my siblings and me the importance of hard work, courage, and discipline and the fear of God. Attending church for the whole was not an option as far as their mother was concerned. His mother was no-nonsense disciplinarian

Bishop Gerishon K. Njoroge started school in Presbyterian Church Mirithu Primary school in Ndeiya and later joined Thigio Secondary School for his O level. By the grace of God, he completed his high school education in 1976. He worked with an Auction Company for two years and got employment with the Kenya government. With the little salary he was getting, Archbishop Dr. Gerishon K. Njoroge was able to further his education, to attain a Masters Degree in Theology, a Masters Degree in Christian counseling and a Higher Diploma in Counseling Psychology.

Looking back to his early childhood, Archishop Dr. Gerishon K. Njoroge thanks the Almighty God that today he has been able to educate his four children to university level and none of them have had to undergo the hardships he went through. One thing his mother practiced and taught her children, was the blessing and power of paying their tithes, something he has followed to the letter to this day and has seen the fruits thereof. Bishop likewise has taught the same to his own children.

Bishop Gerishon met Rachel Wambui, the love of his life in 1980 and as their love grew, they got married and the union has been blest with four children, two boys , Emmanuel Ngugi and Douglas Baraka and two girls, Bernice Wambui and Sacred Sweet Wanjiru and three lovely grand children namely, Princess Gerrylove Wambui aka Kibibi, Prince Gerryson Njoroge and Recycle Wambui Ngugi aka Kipenzi. Citadel Gerishon Baraka and Ahavah R. Wambui Baraka, By the grace of God, all the grown up children are practicing Christians and serving in Wings of Life Gospel Church International

Archbishop Gerishon K. Njoroge was born and brought up in a strict Presbyterian Church family. Attending PCEA Mirithiru primary school for his primary education meant that they had to attend Sunday school every Sunday and the teachers had to be present to make a roll call every Sunday. Woe unto you if you did not attend, for hell will break lose in school on Monday as teachers would feast on you and you could not report the beating back home.

This did not drive Archbishop Gerishon away from the Christian faith, rather Christianity and the church become interesting to him and he become a good Presbyterian, a Sunday school teacher and a faithful youth member in PCEA Mirithu Church in Ndeiya, As a Presbyterian youth member, he was able to go to missionary trips in Naibarijijik and Kirarabuni in Narok County and many other parts of Kwenya, trips which made him a darling of missionary work to this day.

In June 12th, 1971 he had unforgettable encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ when he was 14 years old, that which changed his life and led him to confess and repent all his sins, and accept the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior under the ministry of the University of Nairobi students Christian Union .From this day  he begun to experience his personal relationship with God, and having a deeper fellowship with the  One who created him and loves him no matter who he is or what he have done. He started to experience the profound depth of God’s care and love. By God’s grace he was saved, sanctified and baptized with the Holy Ghost. There and then he started craving for God and His power – that he  might be used of God.

The East Africa revival fellowship (Tukutendereza brethren) played a pivotal role in strengthening his new found faith, despite the fact that he was very young and many of them were very elderly. It is worth mentioning, that it was during this period of early 70s that Pentecostal revival broke out in Kenya, and like a mighty whirlwind carried with it many youths who were seeking a deeper and a close relationship with God. He thank God he was among the youths who accepted God to take them to a higher level of faith as they surrendered to the divine will of God. A memorable event which left a mark in his life, is an over night prayer meeting that took place one Saturday in 1974, in a mud walled, grass thatched house. At 3 am prayer time, an old woman who was over 90yrs of age who had never ever gone to school all her life, got hold of him and put her had around his waist and started prophesying unto him in pure King James version English.

She spoke of many things which have come to be fulfilled in Archbishop Gerishon’s life to the letter, one being that he will hold a high office in church and he will take the gospel to the nations. To date he has ministered in many Nations of the World, a confirmation to that prophesy. Archbishop Gerishon K. Njoroge was called by God to be a minister back in 1976 when he was very young. After preaching in many parts of the country, in crusades schools and colleges and in prison ministry, by God’s divine order, he eventually answered the call into the ministry and was ordained as a pastor in 1978. After working with the Government of Kenya for 19 years, Bishop Gerishon resigned from his job with the government  in 1997 to enter into full time Church ministry.

He ministered in different churches like Household of Faith Church and later with the Ambassadors for Christ Fellowship, until 1999 when God put in his heart the Vision to launch a new ministry. In obedience to the voice of God, he founded Wings of Life Gospel Church International with its Headquarters in Nairobi.  Archbishop Gerishon K. Njoroge was consecrated as a Bishop by the late Bishop James Tyson of Christ Church Apostolic, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA in the year 2000, and later consecrated as an Archbishop in 2010

From a humble beginning in the slums of Pumwani, Nairobi, and with a band of only seven faithful followers who believed in his vision, the Ministry work started. We have planted over 80 churches in Kenya with outreaches in other countries in Africa.

The impact has led to the establishment of churches in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, India and other countries of Africa.

Through his humanitarian and compassionate heart, Archbishop Gerishon has commissioned the opening and running of several schools for Orphans and vulnerable children in Zimerman  and Kibera churches, where the children are ministered unto, and are taught on the reality of the word of God in its truth.  He has also commissioned a ministry of feeding and caring for  Elderly people  in Kenol,  Muranga County.called Agape Touch  run by his son Douglas Baraka Njoroge and Care for the teenangers and vulnerable in the community known as Sacred Foundation run by his daughter Sacred Sweet W. Njoroge
